Facebook Specifications

Facebook supports scheduling a wide range of content types directly to connected Facebook Pages.

Supported Post Types

• Text (text): Status update with text only.
• Image (image): A single image post with a caption.
• Video (video): A single video post with a caption.
• Album (album): A carousel post consisting of multiple images with a caption.
• Link (link): A post sharing an external link with a preview card.
• Reel (reel): A short-form vertical video published to Facebook Reels.
• Story (story): A temporary photo or video published to Facebook Page Stories.

Media Technical Requirements

Images & Albums

• Supported Formats: JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, GIF.
• Maximum File Size: 10 MB per image.
  • Note: It is recommended to keep PNG files under 1 MB to prevent compression pixelation.
• Album Size Limit: Up to 1,000 photos per album.

Videos (Standard)

• Supported Formats: MP4, MOV, AVI (MP4 with H.264/AAC is highly recommended).
• Maximum File Size: 10 GB.
• Video Duration: Maximum 4 hours.
• Minimum Resolution: 720p (1280 x 720 px) or higher is recommended.
• Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (Landscape), 9:16 (Portrait), or 1:1 (Square).

Reels

• Supported Formats: MP4, MOV (H.264 video codec, AAC audio).
• Video Duration: 3 to 90 seconds.
• Recommended Resolution: 1080 x 1920 px (minimum 540 x 960 px).
• Aspect Ratio: 9:16 (Vertical).
• Frame Rate: 24 to 60 fps.

Page Stories

• Photos: JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, GIF (max 10 MB). Recommended aspect ratio is 9:16 to fill the screen.
• Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI (max 4 GB, duration 3 to 60 seconds). Must be vertical (9:16 aspect ratio).

Text & Caption Limits

• Standard Caption (description): Maximum 5,000 characters (applies to Text, Image, Video, Album, and Link posts).
• Reels Caption (description): Maximum 2,000 characters.
