Instagram Specifications

Instagram supports scheduling single images, carousel albums, videos, and stories to connected Instagram Business accounts.

Supported Post Types

Image (image): A single image feed post with a caption.
Album (album): A carousel feed post consisting of multiple images and/or videos with a caption.
Video (video): A single video feed/reel post with a caption.
Story (story): A temporary photo or video published to Instagram Stories.

Supported Formats: JPEG, WebP.
Maximum File Size: 8 MB per image.
Aspect Ratio: Must be between 4:5 (Portrait) and 1.91:1 (Landscape). 1:1 (Square) is also supported.
Album Size Limit: 2 to 10 items per album (can be a mix of images and videos).

Supported Formats: MP4, MOV (H.264 or HEVC video codec, AAC audio).
Maximum File Size: 1 GB.
Video Duration: Minimum 3 seconds, Maximum 15 minutes.
Maximum Bitrate: 25 Mbps.
Aspect Ratio:
- 9:16 (Vertical) is highly recommended for Reels.
- Feed videos support between 4:5 and 16:9 aspect ratios.

Photos: JPEG, WebP (max 8 MB). Recommended aspect ratio is 9:16 (1080 x 1920 px).
Videos: MP4, MOV (max 1 GB, duration 3 to 60 seconds). Recommended aspect ratio is 9:16 (Vertical).
Story Safe Zones: It is recommended to keep important visual elements (like text or faces) away from the top and bottom 250 pixels of the screen to avoid overlay issues (such as user avatar or interaction buttons).

Standard Caption (description): Maximum 2,200 characters (applies to Image, Album, and Video posts).
Hashtag & Mention Limits: Maximum 30 hashtags and 20 @mentions per caption.

When scheduling posts to Instagram, you can configure the following Instagram-specific fields inside the additionalInfo object of the request body:
